About
Patrick Van Fleet is a songwriter currently living in Saint Paul, MN. He grew up in Farmington, IL and learned guitar there from Mary Martin. Work took him for one year to Nashville, TN and then six years to Huntsville, Texas where he met some really fine musicians and took in all sorts of great music in an area that seems to be the largest confluence of musical styles in the country. Many of the songs on Banana Moon were written in Texas and their production influenced by musician friends in East Texas. Twenty years ago, a new job took him to Saint Paul where he continues to do mathematical things and, after a one-year reunion with Texas drummer Steve Rich, returned to playing and recording his original music.
Along with the more talented Verena Van Fleet, they comprise the duo The Hartfords and play shows when time permits. They are sometimes joined on stage by Brian Lenz, who is usually equipped abundantly with instruments, some of which folks never knew he played.
